Path 5: Liberation
Welcome to the final stage of our journey through the Five Paths of Simplicity.
We have traveled a long way together. We have Anchored in the Now, Aligned with reality, Resisted the lie, and activated Gratitude.
Now, we arrive at Path 5: Liberation.
There is a concept in New Thought philosophy known as “binding and loosing.” Ernest Holmes taught that the only thing binding us to the past is our own thought about it. We are the jailer, and we are the prisoner.
Liberation is the moment we realize the door was unlocked the whole time.
It is the spiritual law of ultimate freedom. It is the act of dissolving the burdens- resentments, guilt, and limiting beliefs- that hinder True Nature from its inherent state of peace.
The Problem: Carrying “Dead Weight”
Even after practicing the first four paths, a subtle force can still hold us back. In Simplicity, we call this Emotional Debt.
These are the heavy bags we insist on carrying, often unconsciously:
- Resentment: We hold onto anger at others, thinking it punishes them. In reality, it is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die.
- Guilt: We replay our own past mistakes, believing that if we feel bad enough for long enough, we will eventually “pay off” the debt.
- Limiting Beliefs: We hold onto stories like “I am not good enough” or “I will always struggle.”
When we carry these burdens, our consciousness is constricted. It is like trying to pilot a magnificent ship while dragging a rusty anchor along the sea floor.
This drag prevents the flow of Simplicity. Worse, it sends a corrupted signal to the Creative Law. If you are holding onto the vibration of “I am a victim of my past,” the Law has no choice but to reflect that limitation back to you.
The Solution
Liberation is the radical act of consciously unbinding yourself from these weights. It is the profound declaration: “I am free right now.”
This is not passive. You don’t just “let go” (which implies dropping something accidentally). You Liberate. You actively cut the cord.
You stop using your mind to hold on, and you start using it to release.
What Liberation is NOT
It is vital to clarify what this means, because the small self will fight you on this.
1. It is Not Condoning
Releasing resentment toward someone does not mean you approve of what they did. It does not mean they were right. It simply means you value your own freedom more than you value your anger. You are evicting them from your head because they aren’t paying rent.
2. It is Not Forgetting
You don’t erase the memory. You remove the emotional charge from it. The memory remains as wisdom, but it loses its power to hurt you.
3. It is Not Ignoring
You face the burden squarely. You acknowledge it exists. And then you choose to put it down.
The Wound and the Debt
The Wound convinces us that we are incomplete. It tells us that we must carry guilt to prove we are “good people,” or we must carry resentment to protect ourselves.
Liberation reverses this. It is the recognition that because you are an expression of Spirit, you are already whole. You cannot add to your wholeness by holding onto the past, and you cannot subtract from it by making mistakes.
When you practice Liberation, you are cleaning up your energetic template. You are telling the Creative Law: “I am free of this old story. I am unburdened.”
Practical Steps to Begin Liberating
The “Unburdening Scroll”
Identify one specific burden- a resentment or a guilt. Write it down on a piece of paper. Read it aloud, acknowledging that you have been carrying it. Then, safely burn the paper or tear it into tiny pieces. As you do, say: “I liberate myself from this burden now. The debt is paid.”
The Energy Reclaim
When you notice yourself replaying a past argument in the shower, stop. Shake your hands physically, as if flinging water off them. Declare: “This energy is mine. I reclaim it for the Now. I liberate myself from this old story.”
The Witness of Freedom
When you see others trapped in blame or guilt, do not judge them. Use it as a reminder to check your own bags. Are you carrying something similar? If so, put it down.
The Convergence: Welcome Home to Wisdom
You have now journeyed through all Five Paths of Simplicity.
- Anchoring brought you here.
- Alignment stopped the fight.
- Resistance protected the truth.
- Gratitude shifted the template.
- Liberation set you free.
These are not just steps; they are facets of a single diamond. When they work together, they create a state of Wisdom.
Wisdom is knowing that you are not merely surviving the world’s chaos; you are mastering your consciousness to live in peace, regardless of the storm.
You are the ship. You are the captain. And now, finally, the anchor is up.
Go find your peace within.
